Purpose

• Family Life Ministry

• • Promote a strong understanding of the Mystery of Matrimony through a mature marriage preparation program.
  • Promote marriage enrichment activities, communication skills, conflict resolution and positive bonding for married couples.
  • Strengthen families, reinvigorate its holy mission and role to transmit the true faith and Maronite and heritage to its children.
  • Support families with modern-life social and moral challenges and family life transitions.
  • Promote the dignity and respect of life from conception to natural death.

• Priestly Vocations

• • Promote priestly vocations and improve the website and communication levels
  • Promote an awareness for Vocation by visiting parishes & the seminary
  • Develop vocation materials & brochures
  • Maintain contact with potential candidates through regional retreats and visits.
  • Coordinate vocation team

• Office of Ministries

• • Promote awareness of deacon/subdeacon ministry
  • Screen applicants
  • Coordinate formation program (and on-going education)
  • Recommend candidates to the bishop

• Office of Liturgy

• • To serve the liturgical needs of the Eparch
  • To implement the Patriarchal Liturgical Reforms
  • To assist in creating a proper environment and active participation in our Liturgical Celebrations

• Religious Education

• • Assist the bishop in his teaching office
  • Resource for parish education/catechesis
  • Correspond with local directors of religious education programs
  • Provide tools for Adult Formation

• Youth Ministry

• • Provide and develop local and regional workshops for  the youth
  • Oversee annual inter-eparchial summer youth programs
  • Visit and become a presence to deepen the commitment of the youth in their parishes.
  • Create and sustain a social media presence for the youth
  • Focus on building support groups and mentorship between the Young Adults and MYO

• Commission for Lebanon & the Middle East

• • Unite clergy and laity in efforts to preserve democracy/pluralism in Lebanon and the Middle East
  • Create support for the Christians of Lebanon and the Middle East
  • Be the voice of the Patriarch and the Synod of Maronite Bishops

• Inter-Faith/Ecumen. Other Churches

• • Develop ecumenical spirit in the faithful
  • Increase knowledge of Eastern Churches and the Latin
  • Foster good will among Christians/Muslims/Jews and develop guidelines

• Communications

• • To better evangelize, spread the message of salvation
  • To facilitate communication between Eparchy and people
  • To use the proper means of communication in today’s world of evangelization: websites, Facebook, Twitter, and other social media

• Liturgical Music Commission

• • Serve as a liaison among the choirs of our Eparchy
  • Create guidelines for the proper hymns according to Liturgical services and seasons

• Maronite Young Adult Apostolate

• • Promote the Mission of the Church (Evangelization) and to assist its members toward their call to holiness
  • Teach, live and witness to the Christian doctrine in the name of the Church
  • To promote public worship according to the teachings of their Catholic faith and Maronite heritage

• • Care Givers

• • Develop programs and guidelines for charitable outreach at the local and diocesan levels
  • Visit the sick and suffering
  • Comfort the sorrowful
  • Assist the needy

• Diocesan Pastoral Council

• • An ecclesial consultative body that assists the Eparchial Bishop in his ministry, collaborates with him in evangelization, in sanctifying the soul, as well as in the pastoral care of the community of the Christian faithful.
  • Initiate pastoral activities in the eparchy, promote or redress them, or propose practical initiatives regarding related issues deal with family and youth, education, social ad pastoral activities, statistics and documentation, media and public relations, and planning amid projects
  • Serve as a Coordinating body for all the parishes and diocesan offices and ministries

• Diocesan Stewardship

• • Help in the administration of the temporal goods of the Eparchy
  • An advisory role unless expressly determined otherwise by the CCEO
  • The council is to assist the Bishop by reviewing revenues and expenses at the end of the year and propose course of action on judgments revised by the Bishop
  • Set financial objectives

• New Evangelization/Outreach

• • Develop strategies to reach out to our people, active and inactive
  • Promote a welcoming environment in our Churches to visitors
  • Educate our people about the essentials of our faith

• Project Roots

• • will assist those interested in:
    • Obtaining their sacramental records from their country of origin
    • Connect with family members living in their place of origins and though the world where they emigrated
    • Obtain a Lebanese citizenship if desired  and assist in registering the vital life events (marriage, birth…) in Lebanon
    • Obtain immigration records if desired
    • Remain connected with the Maronite Church here and throughout the world
