Eparchy of Our Lady of Lebanon of Los Angeles Christmas Appeal

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”  (Isaiah 9:6)

November–December 2023

My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

May the Peace of the Almighty God be upon you!

The past several years have been very difficult for many people in the United States and abroad. We have seen an increase in hardship and suffering, especially with the recent events in the Middle East. Although times are challenging, and we face adversity, we must never forget the coming of Christ is what gave hope to the world.

I would also like to share some encouraging news about our Eparchy over the past year: three new priests were ordained for our Eparchy. We have five seminarians and five married men preparing for the priesthood. Our ministries continue to work hard to bring our young people and young adults closer to God. We have opened two new missions. Our parishes continue their ministry of helping many people live and raise their families in the faith.

This time of year, we take the time to give thanks to God for His continued graces. I am also grateful for all that you are doing for the Eparchy, for the Church, and for the various charitable organizations throughout the years.

We in the Eparchy are here to serve you, but we cannot continue our efforts without your support. Please prayerfully consider making a sacrificial gift to your Eparchy today.  Your gift will make a difference as we support our seminarians, missions, and ministries in 2024. We will also share half of the income with our brothers and sisters in desperate need in Lebanon and the Middle East.

You will be in my prayers this Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Let us pray for each other and for a return to peace and stability in the areas of the world that desperately need it. I wish you a happy and holy Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year 2024!  May God bless you abundantly and reward you a hundredfold!

Gratefully yours in Christ,

+ A. Elias Zaidan
Bishop of the Eparchy of Our Lady of Lebanon of Los Angeles
